\nMark wurde geboren in den Sechzigern und wuchs auf nahe der deutsch\/holl\u00e4ndischen Grenze zwischen dem holl\u00e4ndischen Venlo und dem deutschen Duisburg, daher seine \u2013 auf Wunsch vollends akzentlose \u2013 Zweisprachigkeit beider Muttersprachen. In fr\u00fcher Jugend entdeckte er seine Liebe zur Musik und wollte als Teenager dieses liebste Hobby zum Beruf machen. Nach dem Abitur begann Mark daher eine internationale Karriere als DJ und arbeitete in den 80ern u.a. in Holland, Deutschland, Italien, auf dem spanischen Festland und auf Ibiza. 1989 gr\u00fcndete er in Amsterdam mit einem guten Freund die schnell bekannte niederl\u00e4ndische Hard Rock Band \u2018Sudden Death\u2019. Die Band tourte sehr erfolgreich in den 90ern durch ganz Holland.<\/p>\n
Und es war in Amsterdam, wo Mark seine zweite gro\u00dfe Liebe entdeckte: seine Liebe f\u00fcr den Film. Anfang der Neunziger entschied er sich f\u00fcr eine solide Schauspieler-Ausbildung (B\u00fchnen- und Kamerareife), und sich neben seine Karriere als Rocks\u00e4nger auf eine Karriere als Schauspieler vorzubereiten. Er absolvierte seine Ausbildung und weitere Kurse u.a. bei \u2018Studio Sutton\u2019, \u2018de Trap\u2019 und \u2018het Kollektief\u2019 in Amsterdam und schlo\u00df zehn weitere Workshops ab, darunter bei Hans Kemna und Theu Boermans in Amsterdam und weitere am Lee Strasberg Institute New York (Teacher: George Loros). In 2016 studierte Mark an\u00a0\u2018The Beverly Hills Playhouse\u2019 in Los Angeles, USA.<\/p>\n
Schon 1994 gelang Mark sein Debut als Schauspieler in der vielgesehenen holl\u00e4ndischen Fernsehserie \u2018Coverstory\u2019, wo er gleich von Anfang an zwei volle Jahre lang die beliebte Rolle eines Kriminal-Inspektors spielte, was ihn hollandweit auch ausserhalb der Musikszene bekannt machte.<\/p>\n
Seitdem hat Mark bereits in mehr als 130 Film-und Fernsehproduktionen gespielt vor allem in Holland, Belgien und Deutschland, aber auch in<\/p>\n

\n\u00d6sterreich und Spanien \u2013 auch mit gro\u00dfen Regisseuren wie Theu Boermans, Paul Verhoeven und Michael Apted gearbeitet. Obwohl der wandlungsf\u00e4hige Schauspieler in seiner Karriere bis jetzt alle m\u00f6glichen markanten Rollen-\u201cF\u00e4cher\u201d gespielt hat (von Pfarrer bis Anwalt und von Polizist bis Gangster) liegen heute seine Vorlieben und sein Herzblut bei den Rollen der Gangster, der Outlaws, der Drop Outs, und der Bad Guys \u2013 \u201cbei Figuren eben, die neben der Gesellschaft leben.\u201d. F\u00fcr Mark ist das eine zur Kunst erhobene Spezialisierung, der sein jahrelanges Fach-Studium zugrunde liegt.\u00a0 Mark \u00fcber dieses Thema: \u201cDie grosse Herausforderung ist, aus jedem \u2018Gangster\u2019 einen echten Menschen zu schaffen, der also auch seine guten Seiten hat. Unter Schauspielern gilt: eindimensional flache Charaktere sind nicht so interessant wie die gebrochenen Schurken, wie die negativen Helden. Als Ausgangspunkt nehme ich immer, dass der \u2018kranke Geist\u2019 das Resultat einer kranken gesellschaftlichen Umgebung ist. So versuche ich die Basis meiner Charaktere zu legen und glaubhaft zu erspielen, warum sie neben der Gesellschaft gelandet sind.\u201d.<\/p>\n
Inzwischen hat Mark\u00a0 noch eine dritte grosse Liebe entdeckt: seine Liebe f\u00fcr das Schreiben. Er arbeitet im Moment \u2013 neben seinen schauspielerischen Verpflichtungen \u2013 parallel an einem Drehbuch und an einen Roman. Auch Marks Verh\u00e4ltnis zu seinem K\u00f6rper hat sich die letzten Jahren ge\u00e4ndert: das einstige \u2018wild, wild life of Rock & Roll\u2019 hat er eingetauscht gegen knallharte t\u00e4gliche Kraftarbeit in der Sportschule, wo er sich f\u00fcr neue Herausforderungen st\u00e4hlt.<\/p>\n
